Off the back of a challenging few years, and heading into a significant leadership transition, our client wanted to create an intimate 3-day event to bring together their global team, demonstrate unity across senior leaders, and build the confidence and stability needed to navigate the upcoming major change.
They engaged Citrine to manage the overall design and delivery of the entire project, from strategic development and creative concepting through to production and execution.
Eager to position this event as the start of a new chapter, we knew we needed to get the team out into nature and away from their regular day to day responsibilities and environments. Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello was the perfect canvas to bring this transformational experience to life. Known as the world’s largest log cabin resort destination, it offered a true Canadian experience with its rustic charm, unique architecture, and stunning natural surroundings.
Each morning kicked off with a range of wellness activities offering guests an opportunity to experience the stunning natural beauty of Montebello and connect with nature, each other and themselves. Guests could choose from a tranquil sunrise kayak on the Ottowa River, an energising cycling session, a guided run through the property’s grounds, or a mindful yoga class.
Daily programming took place in the picturesque, purpose-built Canada Room, a short walk from guests’ rooms. Having everything on one expansive site enabled seamless transitions between programming, team-building activities, networking, group meals, and personal time.
Programming highlights included a moving DEI workshop held by a local expert facilitator, a live timeline exercise where guests retold the story of the function’s history in words and hand-drawn pictures, and an unscripted ‘white space’ afternoon session where we opened the floor and invited folks to share what was on their hearts and minds.
“What a week!! It was amazing!! Your vision made this week a success! There was a deep feeling of collaboration and care. Thank you!!”
Being a bilingual event, we had live translators on site and headsets available for all guests.
Our guest experiences leaned into the best of local culture. Participants were welcomed with custom gift bags including a personalised hockey jersey, high-quality tech gear and delicious locally-made treats.
One of the peak moments of fun and connection was our team-building gumboot dancing experience, a highly interactive and memorable activity that brought participants together in joyful, foot-stomping rhythm.
Evenings at the Chateau were designed for organic relationship building. Guests relaxed by the firepit, enjoying spiked hot chocolate and s’mores. These thoughtful, informal moments gave folks the chance to decompress from daily content and build authentic connections.
The highlight of the event was the impromptu karaoke party, a sure sign guests were feeling comfortable and confident, and an evening all of our guests will remember fondly for years to come.
